Please Join Us for Incoming 7th Grade Course Selection Night and Immunization Clinic: Tuesday, January 23rd!
All current 6th grade students planning to attend Elk Ridge Middle School next year, please plan to join us in-person on Tuesday, January 23rd. If you have neighbors who have been at a private or charter school, but you know want to attend Elk Ridge next year, please make them aware of our Course Selection night as well.
In order to have enough seats/computer space available, we ask, if possible, that only the incoming student and a guardian attend the session. Course Selection times are as follows:
- 5:00- Last names A-G
- 5:45- Last names H-M
- 6:30- Last names N-Z
- 6:40- DLI & ALPS students and their parents only (you must have accepted placement at Elk Ridge Middle School prior to this night in order to select your courses. If you have not been given placement at Elk Ridge yet, you can still attend the Q&A session, but will not be able to request your courses).
This year we are doing something new! You and your student will enter your requests for the classes you hope to see in your schedule into Skyward. This will be accomplished in computer labs at Elk Ridge. Counselors, teachers, administration and Student Body Officers will be available that evening to help and to answer any questions you may have. Once you have entered your selections into Skyward, you will be required to fill out and turn in an official yellow cardstock copy of the Course Selection Card before the process is complete.
You can print a copy of the 7th Grade Course Selection Card and begin planning your requests.

A Few Important Notes: You must know your student Skyward login and password to complete Course Selection. If you do not know these, please contact the school to receive them prior to Course Selection.
Course Selection is NOT first come, first served. All students who enter their course selections into Skyward and turn in an official cardstock Course Selection card will receive equal priority. Teacher staffing decisions are made based on these requests, so please choose classes that you can live with. Once Course Selection has been completed, schedule changes will only be made based on school and academic needs.
If you are not able to attend your assigned session, please come to one of the first 3 sessions. If you will be out of town or not able to attend that night, please stop by Elk Ridge and fill out and turn in an official yellow cardstock Course Selection card for your student. This will ensure that your student’s choices are included as we create our schedules for next year.
We will also be hosting an immunization clinic that night to help your student prepare to enter 7th grade. Make sure to bring your insurance card and photo ID if you plan to receive immunizations.
