Picture Day
This year’s picture day is September 2nd. Students will come to the auditorium in small groups based on their language arts teacher. We’ve attached a copy of the form here, and you can also look up the information on the LifeTouch website (as well as safety information) using the Picture Day ID: EVTK448JR
Memory Books
Memory Books have arrived! If your student is still at Elk Ridge (8th and 9th graders), they should have received it last Thursday in 7th period. If they didn’t and they ordered one, just have them swing by the main office to pick it up.
If your student is at another school, you can pick up your memory book at the main doors of Elk Ridge on:
- Sept. 11 (Fri) from 10 am – 1 pm
- Sept. 16 (Wed) from 5 pm – 7 pm
We’ll put the word out at other schools, but if you know someone who went here last year, we would love the help spreading the word. If we don’t hear from you and have your memory book after all of that, we’ll send it to you in the mail.
The books look simply amazing, and we appreciate our PTSA’s ongoing efforts with this and so many other things!
Skyward Basics
Skyward can do a lot, but most importantly it’s where students check their grades. Visit this page to see how to help your student learn to use Skyward. They’ve also seen this information in their math class.
Canvas and Google Classroom Basics
Skyward houses grades, but Canvas and Google Classroom often house the actual learning. If you want to learn how to set up an observer account, help your student log in, etc., we’ll be adding a page to our website soon. Until then, here are some videos from ERMS and other places that cover the most-asked questions courtesy of our ever-prepared math department:
Set Up Parent Observer Account
See how teachers can track your activity in Canvas
How to make sure your submission pictures are right-side-up
How to take a picture using a Chromebook
Scan to PDF using Microsoft Lens App on iPhone or Android

IMPORTANT: If you don’t know how to do something, ask a friend, ask your teacher, ask the internet…Google it! There are tons of things you can learn on your own by asking Google or YouTube.
